Lanno Cave

Gua Lanno (Lanno Cave)

Situated about 1km from Kong Fook Nam Cave Temple, Gua Lanno is considered the most beautiful cave in Gunung Lanno. Ranking in as the 3rd longest cave of Gunung Lanno (about 985m), its cave system consists of 2 levels, with numerous chambers and passages branching out.

Aside from its delicate helictite formations and layers of flowstone, there are some magnificent columns formed by stalactites and stalagmites standing above 5m tall. More interestingly, in one of the deepest chambers, featured a giant tortoise-rock (a huge rock that resembles a tortoise) as the center of attraction.

While tunneling through the cave, crawling is required as some of the passages are relatively narrow and at some point where water level is knee high, be prepared to wade through.

The cave habitants are as amazing as ever. Besides the usual bats, giant spiders and many other insect-like creatures, there are some blind flying-creatures crashing around and making clicking noises as they navigate through the darkness, Be ready to be “welcomed”!
